The 2019 Los Suenos Triple Crown has already kicked off Leg II!
On January 16-19, 2019, 44 of the world’s most competitive sportfishing teams flocked to Playa Herradura on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast for Leg I of the Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown billfish series. Over three days of intense fishing, 210 anglers released a total of 648 billfish, including 582 sails and 66 marlin, for an average of 15 billfish releases per boat. Congratulations to Fish Tank for earning first place, The King and I for second, and Reel Pushy for taking third.
A welcome addition this year was the first annual Los Sueños Ladies Only Tournament, presented by Chantilly Air, which brought together 49 anglers on 17 total boats. Fish Tank (anglers Laura Jessen and Michelle Keeney) released a total of 8 sails and 1 marlin for first place, D. A. Sea (anglers Valerie Dunn, Susan McCart, and Judy Duffie) earned second with 6 sailfish and 1 marlin release, and Family and Friends (anglers Jackie Kopp, Kristin Feller, and Andrea White) took third with 10 sailfish releases.
Leg II of the tournament kicked off with the Captain's Meeting yesterday, with fishing days being Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Good luck to all of our friends and family on the hunt today!
